Built on the Tools, Not in a Boardroom

  • Back in 2008, Tony and Ronnie were working together in construction plumbing—taking on jobs big and small through their business, Impact Plumbing. When a major contractor called them in to solve an urgent drainage issue on a new apartment build, they found a bigger problem: there was no product on the market that could do what they needed.

    So, they invented one.

    Using flexible rubber and a few spare parts from their factory, they built the first Grate Seal prototype. It worked immediately—and changed the game. What started as a made-to-order fix soon became a patented, tested, and certified product available across Australia.

The perfect FIX to an odour problem!

I was not sure how I was going to fix the odour problem from a ground floor shower drain, an odour that then permeates the whole downstairs apartment reno. It would have been a huge amount of work / expense to cut up 65 year old concrete floors to work out where pipes are running and what sort of trap could be installed. It took 10 minutes, once I stopped avoiding trying to find a simple solution, to find this product. It's perfect! It will actually slip over the lip on the new shower drain frame. I'll set the frame into the floor with a decent silicon, so if it ever needs replacing it will be a very simple case of slicing out some silicon and putting in a new one. Extremely happy I found this product.
